What does mixed-media art mean to you?

To me, mixed-media art means I get to use anything my heart desires to create my artwork.

How long have you been a mixed-media artist?

I would say for about 5 years. But the past 2 years I’ve really gone gun-ho.

How has your art impacted or enhanced your life?

I’ve come to rely on my art to “save me” from all the negatives in the world. I can’t even imagine my life without my artwork any more. It’s just an extension of me.

What are a few of the mixed-media supplies you find yourself using most?

I tend to always use a combination of bookprint, stamps, acrylics and stencils.

Who are some of your favorite mixed-media artists?

What makes your mixed-media art unique?

I’m madly in love with texture. So it’s rare to see me create something without it. Lately though I’ve been trying my hand at sketching. I’ve typically been just a doodler, but I’m finding that sketching helps me stretch my imagination and helps me gain new confidence.

Where can we find you?

About Linda Barutha: I’m a wife, daughter and mother of two beautiful daughters, ages 21 and 23. I work for a telecommunications company, however, I’ve been building my artist retreat business and hope to transition into it full time by next year.
